Raw mango rice

Rice -2 cups
Raw mango -1 or 2 (according to size and taste)
Fresh grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Red chillies - 2 or 3 (as per taste)
Jaggery - 1table spoon(as per taste)
Mustard seeds -1 teaspoon
cumin seeds - 2 teaspoons
Asafoeteda - 1/4 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 8 to 10
Oil - 2 spoons


Grate raw mango.

Grind grated mango,coconut,red chillies,mustardseeds 1/2 spoon,cumin seeds 1 spoon to a fine paste. Add a little water.

Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds.When mustard seeds sputters add cumin seeds and asafotida , turmeric powder.

Add jaggery and salt (as per taste)Cook till oil separates and the paste thickens. Switch off the flame. Cool a little.

Add cooked rice. Mix the rice well with the cooked mango mixture.

Add a little salt if necessary.

Tasty Mango rice is ready to serve.
