Raw Banana bendi

Recipe Description: 

Pungent side dish goes well with Dal-Rice, Chapati or Roti.

Serves: 
5 persons
Ingredients: 

1]raw bananas-3
2]dried red chillies-8
3]grated coconut-1tablespoon
4]tamrind pulp-1teaspoon
5]salt-as per taste
6]garlic-7to10 flakes (depends upon the size of the flake
7]cooking refind oil or coconut oil-1teaspoon
8]4flakes of tirphal[if not available can add hing in it's place]

Instructions: 

1]peel the bananas with the help of peeler so that only thin green skin is removed without disturbing the fibrous inner skin which is rich in potacium and its astrigent quality helps digestion.[One can do this, by giving a cut on the upper side of the banana and then to pull the skin downwards]
2]Cut the bananas in to small slender pieces.
3]fry the chilles just to make them crisp
4]grind these fried chillies,grated coconut and tamarind to a fine paste by adding 1 cup of water [little at a time.] then add tirphals and grind further for 2 seconds.
5]keep a pan on the high flame and put oil in to it.
When the oil is hot simmer the flame,
crack the the garlics and add into it.
6]Add the banana pieces in it, when garlic flakes turn brown.
7] Add 2 cups of water and salt in it and cover the pan with lid.
8]When the bananas are cooked[softened eough to eat], add the already ground paste into it.
Let it cook for another 3 minutes. then put off the gas
and your raw banana bendi is ready to eat.
Serve it with daal and rice or chapatis
