Recipe Description: 

आर्तान्त्न्तु भाजीच्यो किमती वाढत आसती. आमी कल्लाई उडव्नाये - वाटण्या साली सुधाई. १ किलो वाटणे घेत्ल्यारी साधारण ४०० ग्राम साल्ल्यो येताती आणि ४ जणांक एक रान्दायी जाता. आरता दिवसांतू इकॉनॉमी drive आणि nutrition!

ही रेसीपे हांव मगल्या माई स्वर्गवासी सरू कत्रे (15th रोड, खार, मुंबई,aka 'भजने सरू' for the beautiful bhajans she rendered) लागी शिकलो. ६ मार्च तीगली पुण्यतिथी - तीगल्या उग्डासाक!

Ingredients: 

४०० ग्राम अगदी तरने वाटण्या साल्ल्यो - सुंब काळेल्यो (झून घेत्ल्यारी ताका रुची आसना), १०० गरम चिरलेले बटाटे, सासम, जिरे, हिंगु, १-2 सान कांदे आणि ३-४ वले मिर्सांग, रुचेक मिट आणि २-३ चमचे नारळेल तेल.

Instructions: 

एक कायलेन्तु नारळेल तेल हून करका.

सम हून झायना पडे - सासम, कपिले कांदे,हिंगु, जिरे आणि वले मिर्सांग भाजून घेवंक. सम भाजून येणा पडे वाटण्या साल्ल्यो, कपिले बटाटे आणि थोडे उदाक (४-५ चमचे) घाल्नू शिजत दवारका. १० - १५ मिनिटआंतु उपकारी तय्यार!

This is one of the items from the wide range of recipes that we Chitrapur Saraswats (Amchis) have in our armoury. Basically, we hail from the middle class society and hence we do not believe in wasting any item given to us by the nature. Such 'Upkaris' or 'curries' can be prepared out of the peels of several vegetables and all of them taste just fine. The recipe suggested by Vivek Hattangadi appears to have the aroma and taste of every Amchi dish.
